Perbanas undergraduate students won 1st place in Accounting Olympiade in Yogyakarta
There is no need to doubt the achievements and academic competences of STIE Perbanas Surabaya students. This time, three Bachelor of Accounting students won 1st place in the Accounting Olympiade, Saturday, March 9, 2019. Located at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), the competition was a series of the 5th International Accounting Week by the local campus of the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The three students who honored the name of the STIE Perbanas Surabaya nature were Rizal Efendi, Hana Fitri S., and Karima Fatmawati. They made it to the final round by passing various obstacles in each round.
Contacted after winning, Rizal Efendi said that initially they had to take part in an online selection. After completion, the results of the online selection were taken by the 10 best teams to enter the final round. The 10 teams that entered, included: 1 team from STIE Perbanas Surabaya, 2 UNY teams, 2 UM teams, 1 UMY, 1 UNHAS team, 2 teams from UnSoed, and 1 team from UII.
"Of the 10 teams, we immediately worked on the semifinal manufacturing accounting cycle and multiple choice accounting questions on all topics. Of the 10 teams, 3 best teams were taken to enter the final round, namely STIE Perbanas Surabaya, UNY, and UM, "explained Rizal.
Furthermore, Rizal explained that the final round was conducted with a 3 round quiz system. And, from all these rounds, STIE Perbanas Surabaya always excels. "Thank God, we are champions," he said.
During the competition, he and his two friends were impressed by the unexpected contest questions. Although he participated in the last year, he has not yet entered the final. "For example, the matter of the manufacturing accounting cycle is very technical. So we don't really understand, but we can finish with the best results, "said Rizal. (Eko)
